Self-employed status in twenty minutes
What the app asks, what it does not, and what changes for your taxes afterwards.
What it is
The самозанятый ("self-employed", NPD — professional income tax) status is a simplified Russian tax regime built for side income like one-off shifts. It's registered entirely online, no paperwork or in-person visit required, through the official "Мой налог" app.
Why it matters here
Some missions published on the platform are reserved for profiles declared as self-employed — that's a requirement set by the company posting the mission, not by GetEasyWork. Declaring this status in your profile (Settings → "I'm self-employed") widens the pool of missions you can apply to.
What registration asks for
A Russian passport (or a valid residence permit depending on your situation), a phone number, and an ID photo taken from within the app. No business premises, no starting capital, no accountant required for this regime.
What changes afterwards
Every payment received must be declared in the "Мой налог" app (it generates the receipt to hand to the client) — the applicable rate is lower than standard employment, with an annual revenue cap to respect. Always check the current thresholds and rates directly in the official app: these are government-set parameters that can change.
